About

Welcome to Art Officially Sweetened. My name is Laura-Jade Klée and this is my blog. In  blog entries I review art, research interests, and develop ideas for independent projects.

I have a background in art history having studied towards a BA at University of Nottingham. My studies spanned western art from early modernism to contemporary practice, but I particularly focused upon the museum setting and institutional critique. My research explored early Land art as a form of institutional critique as opposed to environmental art.

Since 2011, I have collaborated with  Jo Dacombe as part of ‘Sidelong’ which explores hidden everyday spaces that contain intrigue and excitement. Details of past projects including Light Night 2011 and the publication of our first book are available at sidelonguk.blogspot.com.

I have worked within the arts throughout the past 5 years, and I have curated a number of events and exhibitions at various venues in Nottingham and Lincolnshire. I have worked at art spaces including: Nottingham Contemporary, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, New Art Exchange, and The National Centre for Craft and Design, in roles including curation, education, community engagement, marketing, and public speaking.

Hehe, I like how the page here is not a page, but an example of a page. All sort off amusing in a this in not a pipe way, even though I assume it’s a simple oversight.

I’m too lazy to change it, so ‘This is Not a Pipe’ is as gooder explanation as any! Thanks for all the comments! I can’t work out how to follow attendants view (I’m a blogging newbie) but I do check occasionally.
